Welcome swallow

Welcome swallow

Rosy-breasted and fork-tailed, these agile daredevils can often be seen flying in fast circles and figure eight patterns over fresh water and fields.

They feed on insects while flying. These swallows are winter visitors to Norfolk, being here from the end of March until October.

Where to see

A group of welcome swallows can consistently be seen at the Bird Rock lookout or spot them sitting in small groups on power lines and fence posts around the island.
