Artist Installation: Jai Adams
Step into the world of local glass artist Jai Adams, whose work has spanned more than 30 years. Known for blending traditional craftsmanship with bold creativity, Adams has completed over ten large-scale pieces, each requiring months or years of patient work.
The centrepiece here is Phillip Island in Glass - a remarkable installation that took 7,000 hours to create. Combining stained glass and timber, it captures the island’s vivid colours and changing landscapes, telling the story of its transformation from a barren, rabbit-ravaged site into a thriving natural habitat.
Framing the exhibition are four hand-crafted kinetic butterflies and dragonflies. Built entirely from scratch with intricate metalwork and stained glass, their wings flutter at the push of a button, echoing the movements of these insects in the forest.
Look up to see stained glass birds soaring above, celebrating three of Norfolk’s most iconic species as they catch the light.
This installation is more than art - it is a reflection of renewal and resilience, and an invitation to see the islands’ beauty in a new light.
